Clay Altars

& Cone Incense

Workshop

Join us for an intentional day of creativity as we gather in community to handbuild clay altars. Whether honoring a transition, creating space for prayer or reflection, or exploring the in-between, this workshop invites women into a mindful and ceremonial making process rooted in presence, intuition, and story.

Using simple handbuilding techniques and thoughtful prompts, you’ll create a unique clay altar shaped by your own symbolism and personal expression. No prior clay experience is needed. This workshop welcomes all levels and ages, and centers process over perfection.

After working with clay, we will transition into crafting natural herbal cone incense that can be used to ignite and accompany your altars at home. Together, we’ll explore scent, intention, and the ancient relationship of sacred smoke across cultures.

We will gather in a relaxed, supportive environment at a private residence in Midtown Tucson, with all materials provided, along with a nourishing potluck-style lunch shared in community.

Following the workshop, each altar piece will be kiln-fired, allowing heat, time, and transformation to become part of the creative process itself.

Finished works will be available for pickup on Sunday, June 28, during an optional return gathering and celebratory potluck dinner with the group. This second gathering offers space to reconnect, receive your fired altar, and honor the transformation of the work together. If you’re unable to attend, alternative pickup arrangements can be made.
